Founding program
A month with the app. A reward for the people who help build it.
I am looking for two small groups in each market area to put Find A Market through a real month of use: working vendors, and people who shop at markets, fairs and festivals. You use it the way you would anyway, and you tell me, week by week, what works and what does not.
Vendors get full Vendor Plus for the month: find shows, apply, track the money, rate the markets you work. Finish it and you earn 3 more months of Vendor Plus, plus a Founding Vendor badge that shows next to your name on your ratings.
Visitors get full Market Pass for the month: find events, say you are going, follow the vendors you like, bring friends along with a Market crew, check in and rate what you went to. Finish it and you earn 3 more months of Market Pass, plus a Founding Member badge.
Each area has ten seats for each group. When a month ends, the next people on the waitlist start, so applying even when a group is full puts you in line. Organizers have their own offer: the first 50 verified organizers nationwide get 6 months free, and you can still apply here as a Founding Organizer to be on the list.
Every application gets read by hand. Vendors and organizers are asked for a link and the name of a real show or event so I can see who I am working with.
What the month looks like
- Week 1, find markets: set up your profile, search farther, narrow it down, save the shows (or events) worth a look.
- Week 2: vendors plan and apply, tracking applications and checking the weather. Visitors bring a friend with a Market crew and check in at events.
- Week 3: vendors run the business, logging what they earn and spend. Visitors follow the vendors they look for.
- Week 4, fix the listings: rate the markets you know and send corrections for what is wrong.
Each week also has a short check-in: three questions and a box for bugs and ideas. Finishing means all four check-ins, at least 80% of the tasks, and three corrections. If life gets in the way, you get one extra week.
In the colder months some of the tasks are planning ones instead (looking ahead to spring), so nobody has to be at a market in the snow to finish.
Your ratings are yours to give however they come out. Nothing here asks for a good score or any particular wording.
